Pre-Dyno Checklist

  • Does your harness have exposed wires?
  • Did you properly crimp or solder all connections?
  • Did you make sure your engine is properly grounded?
  • Is your battery, alternator, or starter trash?

  • Is your fuel system adequate for the amount of power you want?
  • When did you last change your fuel filter?
  • Is your car hella old and running the factory fuel pump wiring but you want a million horsepower?
  • If you’re coming for flex fuel, yes you need more than 10 gallons of ethanol…

  • Are you in denial that your engine may be garbage?
  • Do a compression check.
  • Don’t come without changing your oil the day before.
  • Does your car leak anything?
  • Take note of what spark plugs and what gap you put them at.
  • Make sure you are using at least one step colder spark plug in your performance race application. Stock heat range spark plugs can lead to pre-ignition can cause engine damage very quickly.

  • Make sure you properly bleed your coolant system (+$150.00 if I have to).
  • Did you change your 30 y/o thermostat?

  • Make sure your clutch can hold the power you want.
  • Is your drive shaft tight?

  • Make sure your lug nuts are tight

  • Is your turbo up to the job?
  • What wastegate are you using?
  • If your wastegate spring is heavier than your desired boost level, no I can’t turn it down.
  • Did you connect your boost solenoid correctly? Even if you think you did, check again.
  • Yes, your exhaust leak will make your car slow.

In conclusion

  • Any repairs that take more than 20 minutes on the dyno will be subject to an additional $100.00 for every hour until it’s done.

MOST IMPORTANTLY

If your car fails to perform on the dyno ie: engine failure, transmission failure, any failure. You still have to pay the price. Remember you’re not paying for results.
